Fosston Forward
Funding Our Future
For generations, Fosston Public Schools has been the center of our community.
We are proud of our small class sizes, veteran teachers and strong programs that help every student succeed.
But like many rural districts across Minnesota, we are facing real financial pressure — driven largely by rising costs outside of our control and unfunded government mandates.
Today, our schools face a budget shortfall of about $1 million that threatens the high-quality education our students expect and deserve.
That’s why the school board is asking voters to consider an investment plan this November that would raise about $1.04 million annually to protect what makes Fosston special for years to come.
If approved by voters, this investment would:
Stabilize our budget and protect the classes, programs and services our students rely on each day.
Take advantage of Minnesota's Ag2School Tax Credit, lowering the tax impact on agricultural land across the district.
Election Day is Tuesday, November 3, 2026.
Early voting begins Friday, September 18, 2026.
